What Is Our Foreign Policy?
Michael Crowley, who is awfully cute, asks an obvious question which i have wondered about for some time now: Why does the United States ally ourselves with nations who actively sponsor terrorism, or allow terrorist groups to freely operate on their soil? Today it's Pakistan, who has nukes, a large Taliban presence, and tolerates al-Qaeda camps in their country. This, of course, says nothing about Saudi Arabia, Turkey, or Israel.
Obviously, Bush wasn't serious when he said that any nation which aids or abets terrorists is an enemy of the United States.
