The Return of John McClain

Right, so I'm a big Die Hard fan, and I just got about to watching the fourth installment. I'm not as infatuated with it as many seem to be; by my reckoning it's the third best Die Hard, ahead of "2," but behind "3" and "1," in that order. The (obvious) repeated use of "Fortunate Son" was irritating, because the movie didn't have point, shouldn't've had a point, and that song means nothing without context. So it came across as a worthless cheap shot.

Elsewhere... I thought it was interesting that McClain's sidekick this time around was Macboy, and yet all the hyper-cool hacking equipment were all PCs, from the laptops to the PDAs.

All in all, tho, it was alright. I'd've preferred some more special-effects-violence, but apparently the makers wanted it to stay PG-13. Oh well.
