Tie Goes to the ... Runner?
According to an Obama campaign memo, accidentally leaked, the Obama camp is expecting a virtual tie in delegates after all the primaries and delegates. So what happens in that case? Well, the superdelegates could decide it, and currently Clinton has a fairly significant lead in that category. Or, the delegates from MI and FL could be seated, which would tip the nomination to Clinton. Or, there could be a new contest in MI and FL -- perhaps a caucus -- in order to determine their delegates. A caucus could help Obama.
In other words, it will be a very long time before this is decided. It is very unlikely that there will be any resolution before the Democratic Convention. Which is in the last week of August.
